Law Enforcement Training and Equipment Specialist

As a Law Enforcement Training and Equipment Specialist, GS-13 the incumbent will be expected to perform the following functions below:
Ensures that the law enforcement equipment is within operational specifications prior to distribution. Provides advice and assistance to the Regional/Field offices regarding law enforcement and investigative equipment. Assists criminal investigators with research, testing, evaluation, and acquisition of law enforcement equipment and products. Prepares and submits an annual program budget to ASAC detailing law enforcement equipment and supply projections for the upcoming fiscal year. Conducts detailed technical research and cost/benefit analysis necessary to procure state-of-the- art law enforcement equipment. Researches and analyzes existing laws and government-wide policies and practices with respect to technical law enforcement equipment. Assists with special projects in support of the equipment, training and developmental needs and functions for NTEOB. Serve as a NTEOB instructor for OI law enforcement training programs. Provides support to others involved in the coordination of a variety of national programs (Firearms, Control Tactics, Technical Surveillance, Emergency Medicine, Emergency Ops, etc.) responsibilities and protocols. Obtains and keeps the necessary certifications to repair and/or modify firearms appropriately and safely. Applicants must have 1 year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level in the Federal service and/or the private sector which provided the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills and abilities to perform the duties of the position. Qualifying specialized experience must demonstrate the followings:
As a certified firearm instructor, applicant must demonstrates extensive knowledge and skills in the following:
(1) providing advice and assistance regarding law enforcement firearms (i.e. Glock/LWR-M6G) and related equipment; (2) researching and analyzing existing laws and government-wide policies and practices regarding issues surrounding law enforcement agency firearms and related equipment; (3) providing advice to criminal investigator/special agents concerning firearm equipment and operational matters (i.e. Glock and LWRC-M6G); and (4) maintain, repair, order and inventory parts and equipment for firearms (i.e. Glock and LWRC-M6G).

Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
