Summary:
Performs housekeeping duties within the facility.
Cleans and disinfects patient care areas and administrative area.
Removes trash and infectious waste from patient care areas.
Will interact with patients ranging in age from neonate to geriatric while providing the highest level of customer service in accordance with UM UCH mission, vision, and values.
JOB TASK LIST Provides highest level of customer service according to UM UCH Mission Vision and Values Uses proper scripting while interacting with patient's.
Cleans patient rooms according to SOP.
Areas are kept in a clean condition to reduce spread of infection and to promote a healthy environment.
Cleans all other patient care areas including utility rooms, nurses station, patient kitchens, etc.
according to SOP Complete discharge room cleaning according to SOP.
Rooms and beds are thoroughly disinfected to reduce the risk of in hospital infection.
Cleans all office areas including lobbies, public bathrooms waiting areas etc.
according to SOP.
Handles infectious waste and soiled linen in a manner consistent with infection control procedures.
Completes assignments within scheduled hours of work.
Maintains patient confidentiality to assure that all medical information is strictly confidential Observes and complies with established EVS infection control policies and procedures Maintains supply closets in a neat and orderly fashion to promote an ascetically pleasing environment Follows all procedures including wet mopping floors; (uses wet floor signs to reduce risk of injuries Uses Patient Bedtracking System Demonstrates interpersonal skills necessary in communicating with patient and visitors in the following developmental stage (X)newborn (X)toddler(X)school age (X) adult (X) elderly Qualifications MINIMUM KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
Education & Training:
High School Diploma/GED preferred.
Work Orientation &
Experience:
Strong Customer Service background with demonstrated reliable work history.
The incumbent will require up to 1 month of detailed job orientation and training to gain specific capabilities to perform essential job functions.
Skills & Abilities:
Ability to:
a) handle multiple tasks simultaneously, b) communicate effectively orally c) maintain confidentiality, d) ability to adapt hours of availability to variable and changing needs of the EVS department, including all shifts Demonstrated skill in:
a) excellent customer service, b) attention to detail and follow through, c) matching applicant strengths and skills to the appropriate position.

Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
