We are Prince George's Proud! The Prince George's County Government Department of Housing and Community Development is seeking qualified applicants to fill an Administrative Aide (Administrative Aide I/II) position, grade A13/A15 within its Budget, Accounting and Loan Servicing Division.
About the Position:
To provide administrative/clerical support to the Budget, Accounting and Loan Servicing Division to support the Housing Investment Trust Fund (HITF) Program.
Examples of Work What You'll Do:
The incumbent will be responsible for coordinating and managing the Workforce Housing/GAP Financing Program office activities to include:
Administrative Support Answers the telephone and directs callers according to nature of request within the Accounting, Budget & Administration and Loan Servicing Division.
Maintains a working knowledge of various DHCD programs administered by the Department in order to respond to client inquiries.
Correspondence Prepares routine letters and memorandums for the signature of the Loan Servicing Manager.
Assists Manager and staff in searching files and other sources of information as necessary to compile documents and other information to be used as background material for meetings or special projects.
Reviews and edits for style and grammatical content of all documents prepared in the Division which requires the Manager's signature.
Database Management Updates and maintains databases and manual file systems as needed.
Creates and maintain documents and files of information i.
e.
, letters, forms, and reports on computer and in files.
Other Duties Willingly and cooperatively performs tasks and duties assigned which may not be listed but are within the general category and responsibility level typically associated with the class of work.
Qualifications What You'll Need:
High school diploma or G.
E.
D.
certificate with coursework in typing, office practices or other related clerical subjects; plus One (1) year of advanced diverse and/or technical clerical experience which must have involved working with the public for at least six (6) months.
Applicants must be proficient in typing and in shorthand where required.
Any equivalent combination of relevant training, education and experience will also be accepted.
Preferred
Qualifications:
Knowledge of secretarial/office practices, procedures systems and equipment.
Knowledge of business English, spelling, mathematics and vocabulary.
Knowledge of general County government procedures and inter-relationship between the various County agencies, or the ability to rapidly acquire such knowledge.
Knowledge of mortgage loan documents.
Skill in the operation of a variety of standard office equipment and MS Word & Excel.
Ability to perform responsible secretarial duties which may include taking and transcribing of oral dictation.
Ability to compose correspondence with only general instructions.
Ability to communicate effectively with County, citizens, co-workers, vendors, and others.
Additional Information CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT:
Applicants who meet minimum qualifications must pass an administered Administrative Aide exam.
Applicants who have previously taken the exam on or after 2/1/2023 and passed, will not be required to re-test; instead, previously test scores will be used to receive the passing disposition.
DURATION OF ELIGIBILITY:
Applicants will be selected from a temporary register of eligible candidates, which will become effective approximately four (4) weeks after the closing date.
Once a selection has been made, the register will expire.

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
