Non-Emergency Medical Transportation Driver
Job Type Full-time, Part-time Description We are a non-emergency medical transportation provider dedicated to providing quality transportation for our clients.
We are searching for professional drivers who are dedicated, punctual, courteous, and have a flexible schedule.
The Driver will operate a company provided wheelchair accessible minivan equipped to offer safe custom transportation to and from medical appointments.
Duties/
Responsibilities:
o Pick up clients from home or other living facilities.
Provides the assistance required to safely board clients and caregivers.
o Ensures wheelchairs and passengers are properly secured before starting vehicle.
o Transports clients to and from medical appointments, dialysis, and clinics in Prince George's County, Montgomery County, Southern Maryland, and boundaries counties.
o Checks the van to ensure that no personal items are left behind.
o Follow safe loading and unloading procedures.
o Operate mobile devices, company email, various software system and operate GPS unit.
o Immediately reports traffic accidents to dispatcher, requesting police or ambulance service as needed.
o Communicate transport details with Dispatch.
o Pre- and post-vehicle safety and maintenance checks.
o Other functions may be assigned.
Requirements Required Skills/Abilities:
o Possession of patience and care with clients, and their caregivers.
o Must be reliable and capable of working independently and remaining calm in case of emergency.
o Must be flexible to work early morning, mid-morning, and evening hours.
Education and
Experience:
o Must hold a currently valid driver's license and have an excellent driving record.
o High school diploma or equivalent and fluency in English required.
Physical Requirements:
o Ability to lift, push, pull, and position clients frequently.
o Ability to perform considerable reaching, stooping, and bending.
Job Requirements:
Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screening, background check, MVR screening, and physical.
Report to work on time and in proper uniform.
Maintain a strong attendance record.
Safely operate a wheelchair accessible vehicle.
Must be reliable and capable of working independently and remaining calm in case of emergency.
Must be capable of driving in inclement weather.
Must be able to drive for extended periods of time, when required.
